History of Salthouse Next Generation Boats

Dean's favourite pastime out on
the water fishing

INSPIRED BY LIFE – DESIGNED WITH PASSION

Salthouse Next Generation Boats’ founder, Dean Salthouse, has had a passion for professional sailing and boatbuilding all his life. He completed his boatbuilding apprenticeship as a marine cabinet maker and worked for 10 years at his father’s business, Salthouse Marine, effectively learning the ropes from the ground up in many different capacities.

Dean founded Salthouse Next Generation Boats in 2005 after he and his father Bob Salthouse spent over two years working together to successfully revamp the original CORSAIR vessel into a wider bodied Cabriolet-styled motor yacht. Father and son worked together in the shed rebuilding a classic – tweaking ever so slightly an already well tested and proven design.

In 2013 Dean purchased the very popular ICON flybridge motor yacht range from Formula Cruisers. The ICON’s combination of design, build quality and exceptional sea keeping performance are a great addition to the Salthouse CORSAIR sedan motor yacht range.

The ICON has been rebranded as the Salthouse ICON and will be built with the same proven methods and quality craftsmanship that has been the hallmark of both brands for many years. Dean plans to expand the ICON range to include sedan style cruisers up to 70ft. Which is about to be released - The Salthouse ICON 54S

Dean’s favourite saying is “Good things take time, great things take longer!” And the proof is in the satisfaction and enjoyment expressed by Salthouse Next Generation boat owners.
