Salthouse Corsair 53' Euro
We currently have the first sedan Salthouse Corsair 53' under construction. This vessel will be used as a charter boat for Sydney Harbour and  is due to be completed in May.

We should note the first 53' has been fully customised, to the owners requirements.  Although the interior mirrors the 49' the 53' boasts an additional heads - an ensuite into the fwd cabin, and a more spacious cockpit to cater for alfresco living and recreation.
The extra metre of beam has allowed for bigger settees to port, both in the cockpit and saloon and the galley has received two more banks of draws to compensate for the dishwasher.
An additional seat and table/ sunbathing bed is added across the transom so sunbathing or just sitting in the sun can be done without leaving the privacy of the cockpit.
The radiused transom resembles a more european inspired style, while the cabin features oval port holes fwd with large opening port holes in the hull (fitted with warning sensors should they be open when the engines are started).
Under the cockpit is a custom dinghy boot designed to house 2.9m Explorer NZ Jet Craft capable of 30 knots and lots of fun.

All side decks are teak including the fwd cabin top. The interior is also teak, including everything from the ceiling panels down. Aft doors are teak bi-fold, as well as the cockpit/galley window.
Speed calculations with the twin 345 MTU engines and 17 ton displacement are 27 to 28 knots.

Interest Building
Interest has been building in the 65’ Mid Cabin Sedan and enquiries are continuing into the possibility of using the existing Salthouse 65’ mould or building a new one.
With much interest in the 53’ also we are toying with the idea of a dual mould with two freeboard
heights, as the amidships full width owners cabin requires a lot of free board.

We have also received continued interest in the 44’ and 49’ models, although this is now extending to the clients wishing to see all three models. It's great to be able to now offer so much choice to ensure they get something that really meets their needs.

Update from Europe
We went to the Genoa boat show in Europe last year for a heads up on what is coming from the big named off-shore manufacturers and clearly the biggest trend is the Mid Ships owners cabin. It was also good to see that we more than hold our own quality wise, in fact I have to say that they are heading into very dangerous waters with more and more interior panels that appeared to be MDF.
I can’t say I was blown away by anything in particular, but a few things did catch my eye that could work quite well here.

Sydney Boat Show

At this stage we will not be displaying at the Auckland on-the-water boat show this year, we feel the time of year is not the best.  We are looking at holding some open days and will let you know where and when these are.
We will have the first 53’ at the Sydney show, so we will concentrate our efforts there.

As always, we are happy to take a day to demonstrate our Corsairs and show you our facilities without putting you through all the hassle of a busy boat show. After all, it is our performance, handling and the

ability
to customise if you require that makes us so special.

Happy boating
